At Portland Pay It Forward, we envision a community in which everyone has access to quality, nutritious food and is committed to making sure no one goes hungry or experiences food insecurities.
As we enter 2021, the need for food continues to grow. We need YOUR help to keep up with the demand.
Nearly 20% of children (under 18) in Tennessee live in poverty and 1 in 4 children experience food insecurity.
More people in our community are facing hunger issues for the first time and are reaching out to Portland Pay It Forward for help. Since the pandemic began, the number of families turning to us has significantly increased. We are trying to do all that we can to meet this growing need in Portland. Would you partner with us and consider donating money, food, and time?
Nearly 210 Turkey Dinners were handed out and more than 270 families helped during the bi-weekly food giveaway leading up to Thanksgiving 2020. A HUGE Thank You to all who helped provide Thanksgiving meals!!!!
Portland Pay It Forward enjoyed participating in the Portland TN 2020 Trick or Treat and providing goodies for kids of all ages.
Due to the tremendous financial support from our Portland community, we were able to purchase and pay for this storage shed in October 2020. It will house non-perishable food allowing PPIF to keep our overhead low. Thank you to ALL who gave!
We hope you enjoyed our presence at the Farmer's Market this summer! We met new people, strengthened past relationships, and learned more about the needs in our community.
